Extended information
Mode of Study, Delivery Model and Language of Instruction
All teaching and learning activities of the Program are conducted online, through an integrated distance-learning model combining synchronous and asynchronous learning supported by continuous formative work. Synchronous learning is delivered through scheduled live online sessions such as interactive lectures, workshops, case-based discussions, invited talks, guided problem-solving activities, and student presentations. These sessions provide regular opportunities for real-time engagement between students and instructors.
Asynchronous learning complements the live component through curated weekly learning pathways, recorded teaching segments where applicable, guided readings, structured online discussion spaces (including moderated boards and fora), self-assessment quizzes, and independent study activities designed to support reflection and consolidation. Across the semester, learning is reinforced through iterative formative work, including weekly assignments (individual and/or group-based), applied projects, case studies, and feedback cycles that support improvement through revision.
The official teaching language, learning materials, and assessment is English. Administrative communication may also be provided in Greek when required for institutional or legal purposes, including the issuance of documents under the Greek legal framework, without affecting the Programโs English-taught academic character.
Duration, Structure and Capstone Requirement
The standard duration of studies is three (3) semesters, with the workload distributed according to ECTS principles. Student workload includes participation in scheduled online activities, engagement with learning materials, guided independent study, completion of assignments and projects, preparation for summative assessments, and the full dissertation cycle.
The Program includes a compulsory MSc Thesis (30 ECTS) as a capstone requirement. The thesis demonstrates the studentโs ability to define and address a clean-technology management problem through appropriate methods (quantitative analysis, applied analytics, operational research/optimisation, econometrics, AI/ML, mixed methods, or combinations thereof), and to present findings in academically rigorous English writing. Thesis work is conducted under defined supervision and assessment procedures and is subject to academic integrity checks, including plagiarism control.
International and Intercultural Dimension
CTM is designed with a strong international and intercultural orientation embedded across the curriculum and learning experience. Full English delivery supports international participation and strengthens graduatesโ employability and mobility. Intercultural competence is developed explicitly through dedicated learning activities that equip students with practical communication strategies for collaboration in multicultural industrial and technological environments. In parallel, the joint character of the Program and the academic contribution linked to the University of Montpellier ensure sustained international input into teaching and learning, exposing students to contemporary perspectives and practices relevant to global clean-technology industries.
Optional Dual Degree Pathway
The Program provides an optional pathway enabling eligible students to pursue, in addition to the MSc award, the MBA in Digital Business and Innovation (MBA DBI eLearning) delivered by the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Montpellier. This pathway is typically pursued in an additional (fourth) semester and is subject to the specific academic and administrative conditions defined by the University of Montpellier and the relevant inter-institutional arrangements. The academic and administrative terms of this pathway, including eligibility criteria and any additional requirements, are defined in the relevant institutional arrangements and described in the appropriate sections of this Study Guide.
